While working for a large wealth management company, I had uncomfortable conversations with people near retirement age who found out they did not have enough money to retire comfortably. It pained me to see people who spent their whole life thinking they were doing the right things financially only to find out they were nowhere close to where they needed to be. It was apparent that waiting too long before taking their personal finances seriously and a lack of personal finance education were the root causes of these unfortunate situations.
At the same time, my wife was in law school and I saw firsthand how little financial education is provided to graduating law students. In just the first 10 years out of law school, young lawyers need to figure out how much to save, invest and spend plus how to repay their student loans, buy a home, start a family, and prepare for partnership. On top of all of those financial challenges and opportunities, young lawyers also have to make these decisions while working full-time at a time-intensive job. So I set out to build a firm and a financial planning process tailored for young lawyers to educate and guide them through these decisions.
My Developing Financial Process identifies what is most important to you, analyzes your current financial situation, builds a comprehensive financial plan, implements the plan, adapts the plan as your life changes on an ongoing basis, and most importantly educates and empowers you throughout the entire process. My process helps you pay off your student loans completely, invest effectively, save and spend intentionally, and achieve your financial goals and ambitions.
When I’m not educating and planning, I am usually outside. You will find me and my family hiking and skiing in the mountains, surfing in the ocean, or somewhere in between.
